The Austrian squad has announced significant changes for the 2026 F1 campaign, promoting Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat.

Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB.

This reshuffling sees Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat post a half-decade in F1.

The New British Hope

The youngster was identified as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Talking about the company's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", commending his "pure speed".

Red Bull has had a plan since last year to ready Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, featuring appearances in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "2026 will be a big challenge, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started."

He has won two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year.

His performances included an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the drivers' standings.

A senior team figure commented: "Isack has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max."

The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "ready".

Tsunoda's Exit

To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves more time.

Tsunoda, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's points total.

The driver market moves confirm that there is also no place on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
