Administration Decries 'Democratic Hoax' as More Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Released
Democratic lawmakers have made public a fresh batch of what they termed "disturbing" pictures from the estate of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 photographs—a portion of which have been previously circulated—plus another 70 issued later on Friday represent a small number of the approximately 100,000 images provided to the House oversight committee, which is examining the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The disgraced financier was a victim of an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking crimes.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Featured among the prominent personalities visible in the initial batch are public figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
White House Statement
The White House reacted to the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the pictures for electoral motives and to "attempt to fabricate a false narrative."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson stated, maintaining that "the current government has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by repeatedly calling for transparency, releasing thousands of pages of documents, and urging more inquiries into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Congressional Democrat Comment
The photos were disclosed devoid of explanation, but as stated by a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with wealthy individuals.
"Now is the occasion to end this White House obfuscation and deliver justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he stated in a release.
The publication of these documents coincides with the House panel pressing on with its probe into the Epstein matter.
